Diving with Hua Hin Divers at Bang Saphan Noi
This holiday I went with my family to Hua Hin Thailand.
On the internet I could not find any divesites at Hua Hin, but there is one dive center.
This dive center is owned by Steve, an Englishman who is a dive instructor.
There is no diving at Hua Hin. The visibility is terrible and it is mostly sand.
To do some diving you have to drive about 2 hours to the south to Bang Saphan Noi (a small fishing villager) and then take a boat for 50 minutes.
Steve told me he had seen a whale shark every dive over the last 3 weeks, so I was excited and really hoping to see one.
Our first dive was at Rarn Ped
The colors here are overwhelming, lots of anemones and beautiful fish. Even a large school of barracudas passed us. But I was looking in the blue for the whaleshark, but it didn’t show up.
Maybe better luck next dive.
Our second dive we made was at Rarn Gae
A little farther from our first dive. There was a small current here, may be that would attract the whaleshark. But again it didn’t show up. I did spot a lot of nudibranches and a stonefish. Even though the colors were not as pretty as the first dive it was still an awesome dive.
Returning on the boat we spotted 5 buddha whales near the boat. Coming out of the water but not close enough to the boat to make an underwater picture. I tried 3 times, by jumping in the water.
All in all, the site is amazing, lots of undisturbed coral and anemones and an experienced dive guide.
I can really recommend everybody to dive with Hua Hin divers.
But keep in mind that it is quite expensive, including the trip by car (2 hours) boat trip, weightbelt and air it costs 550 baht for only 2 dives.
Is it worth the money ?? I surely think it is.
