Report of the first day at El Quseir
11-06-2017
First three dives at El Quseir/ Roots Red sea resort .
We started with a check dive at the housereef north side. We used our check dive to establish the amount of weight and to feel comfortable.
Jumping in it feels like Egypt. Yeah, lots of fish and nice hot water. (28,4C).
We dive easy alongside the reef and see lots of beautiful fish, moray eels and bleu spotted stingrays.
The next dive is the south reef and in the afternoon we make our third dive at the north reef again.
Below some pictures to show the beauty of the house reef.

Report of the second day
This day we went to the Rock, our dive instructor is this time Hores. We are going to look for turtles, dugongs and dolphins.
The dugongs and the dolphins were not there, but instead, we saw a lot of turtles, eagle ray, crocodile fish, big tuna and a lot of stonefish. Going negative in the water is also a nice experience.
We made 2 dives here.
Our third dive was again at the housereef, south side this time. To prepare for Elphinstone we made a dive to 35 meter. We expect to hit around 40 meter at Elphinstone, so a little preparation will be good. Saw also a very big muray eel on the way back..

The third diving day:
2 dives at Serib Kedir, first dive on the north side, second dive on the south side.
At the first dive we spotted a purple grouper with a small fish in his mouth, awesome sight at 20 meter deep. On the same spot an octopus and some clownfish. The second dive we saw again an octopus and also a nice big turtle. This dive also went through some nice caves, some where quite small.
Later that day another dive at the housereef and at around 19:30 a night dive. On the night dive I filmed a sepia eating, a large nudibranch walking across the reef and a sea cucumber. Beautiful dive.

Day 4 and day 5 Diving
14-06-2017
Today we are diving at Dolphin Reef. Our dive instructor is Steve. At Dolphin reef there is a possibility of dolphins and maybe a dugong. We were unlucky because neither of them were there today. We did see a large tuna and muray eel.
Our second dive was at the same reef but closer to the harbor. Again we went looking voor dolphins and the Dugong. But also this time they were not there. We went into the caves instead and saw some beautiful scenery. Afterwards we swam outside the reef to make our safety stop to get back on the boat. There we spotted a Spanish dancer out in the blue. Dancing in the water, an amazing site and breathtaking. After watching and videoing this scene, we were all very excited, this was much better than the dolphins and the dugong. Steve thank you so much for these wonderful dives.
Our third dive this day was at the housereef from north to south. Here we spotted a small school of catfish and a stargazer.

Today we are leaving very early (04:30) to Elphinstone reef. We are hoping to see sharks and maybe even a hammerhead. After a one hour drive we are getting on a zodiac for about 20 minutes. Outside the harbor there are some big waves of approximately 3 meters and the boat is real jumping up and down. Feels a bit like a roller-coaster.
At our first dive we are descending to about 40 meters and YES about 30 meters below us we see a hammerhead. Too bad, he is to far away for a picture, but everyone saw him, so we are excited and happy.
After we return to the zodiac we see a ocenic white tip circling under our boat. I ask Steve if I can go in to snorkel, but he says it might be dangerous. At our second dive we ar again going deep too look for hammerheads only this time we don’t see one. On our safety stop close to the boats we are searching for the oceanic Whit tip. And there he is, majestic circling around us. I can’t hardly breath by this amazing view. I am taking pictures and make videoshot like a mad man. And then he is gone. Away into the deep. We go back into the zodiac and are very happy.
Later that day we make 2 more dives at the housereef. Where we spot a eagle ray, and a spotted snake eel this time.
Day 6 and the last day diving.
Today already our last day of diving.
We are going to the Saleem expres, a wreck were a lot of people died a couple of years ago (near Safaga). The wreck is relatively new and easy to access. I make a lot of pictures from the ship.
The second dive is at Sa’ab Claud, a beautiful reef with nice corals. Here we saw a octopus and 3 different kinds of moray eels.
This is our last dive this diving holiday and we stay under as long as possible. After w come back at the resort, there is no time left for one more dive, because of our 24 hour surface time before flying.
We have seen a lot of amazing things under water and I made some awesome video’s and photo’s.
El Quseir is really a nice place to dive, and I sure will be back someday.
